Gold Coast City has developed a national and international profile as a producer of pleasure craft and as a place for storing, servicing and enjoying such vessels. A significant volume of the production is exported. The industry is concentrated around the Gold Coast Marine Precinct, Coomera River, Sanctuary Cove, Steiglitz, Broadwater, Ernest / Molendinar and Burleigh Junction.

Over 450 companies and 4500 employees comprise the Gold Coast marine industry, which in 2005 - 06 injected over $550 million into the local economy. During 2005 the industry in the marine precinct exported goods worth over $250 million to over 30 countries around the world.

Enormous potential exists to continue to develop the Super Yacht industry on the Gold Coast. The Super Yacht industry has the potential to inject between $60 and $120 million into the Gold Coast economy over the next five years. This is largely expenditure on refit and maintenance by overseas super yacht owners.

Additionally it provides information on local area marine service providers such as refit specialists and marinas, which have the facilities to be a perfect host to world cruising craft including super yachts.
